Work Study Programs

The Beard Implement Work Study Program is designed to provide part-time jobs to high school students, while preparing them for application into the Beard Implement Scholarship Program.

Goal
The goal of this program is to have students gain valuable insight from working one on one with experienced technicians. This program will allow students the opportunity to develop skills for use in the agricultural field. Students will be able to see all aspects of Beard Implement Company and learn valuable skills in communication, business, and working in group settings. We strive to create a welcoming and safe environment and develop a relationship of trust.

Requirements/Onboarding:   
  1. All students must be at least 16 years old at the time of application.
  2. Beard Implement will host an Open House for all parents and students who express interest in employment to address questions/concerns.
  3. All students participating in the program will need to complete a pre-employment screening.
  4. Students successfully completing pre-employment screening are eligible to be offered a part-time position.  The hours will be determined and signed by a Beard Implement Manager and the student.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  1. The student will be scheduled to attend Beard Implement’s Orientation prior to starting work.
  2. The student will meet his mentor who has been selected to train/work with him.
  3. The mentor will review the job description with the student.
  4. Each day, the student will meet with his supervisor.  The supervisor will assign their duties and tasks for the day.
  5. The mentor and supervisor are responsible for training the student which will include steps for completing defined tasks.

  • Electrical Diagnosis and Repair
  • General Equipment Maintenance
  • Diesel Engine Diagnosis and Repair
  • Customer Service
  • Machine Set-up and Adjustments
  • Precision Farming Systems
  • Computer Diagnostics
